Breathable Water Repellency

When sprayed or brushed onto building walls, Keqiangshen forms an invisible layer and penetrates several millimeters into the wall. This silicone film breathes and is strongly hydrophobic: when rain strikes the building or moisture is present, water forms beads that run off naturally and penetration is prevented. Because the capillary pores of the base material are not sealed, dampness inside the wall can still escape outward through the waterproof layer without obstruction. The wall is thus both waterproof and vapor-permeable, keeping façades intact and attractive.

Features

The material provides excellent waterproofing, damp-proofing, mold resistance, anti-fouling, salt-efflorescence resistance, acid-rain resistance and weathering resistance. Compared with similar domestic products it offers superior water-impermeability, durability and service life, effectively preserves the original appearance of exterior walls, is easy to apply across a wide range of uses, and maintains its waterproof effect for more than five years.

Scope

Widely used on exterior walls of all kinds of buildings, classical gardens, computer rooms and library/archive rooms. It is particularly effective for warehouse and pitched-roof waterproofing and anti-seepage, and for waterproofing, anti-fouling, color retention and anti-efflorescence on ancient buildings, stone tablets, ceramic tile, mosaic, marble and granite finishes, as well as on tiled façades, housing and other buildings prone to leakage.

Specifications

Milky white uniform emulsion; density 1.00-1.01 g/cm3 at 20 C; non-volatile content at least 26% at 105 C; pH 3.5-5.0. Waterproofing is unchanged after 5 hours at 100 +/- 2 C, and specimens show no cracking and unchanged waterproofing after 2 hours at -30 +/- 2 C. In the water-bead test, five beads placed on a specimen do not penetrate within 2 hours and waterproofing is unchanged.

Application and Precautions

Clean the wall surface; it must be dry and free of dust. Cracks wider than 1 mm are repaired with acrylic sealant or another sealing material. Dilute one part concentrate with 9 to 12 parts clean tap water, stir thoroughly, and spray or brush two consecutive coats. One kilogram of concentrate covers 40 to 60 square meters over two coats.

  • The two coats must be completed in succession; if too long a gap is left the first coat gels and the wall no longer absorbs the second, producing poor results.
  • Do not clean walls with acidic chemicals, which impair waterproofing.
  • Store in a cool, ventilated place; shelf life one year.
  • Once diluted with water, use within 24 hours.
